

Meet our executive chef
Skylar comes to us with more than 15 years of personal cooking experience. In the professional field, he started as a dishwasher and then moved up to prep cook. Over time, Skylar worked his way up to sous chef. Seven of his professional years were spent working at Washington State University where he was introduced to the world of catering chef. During this chapter of his life, Skylar discovered the love of creating new and different food mash-ups to create unique items for menus. He brings these ideas with him to The Smoke Ring to help bring exclusive menu items to the community. We are excited to officially announce that he will be staying as part of our Smoke Ring family!!

Chef Jess was exposed to the culinary culture at a young age and through time has gained knowledge in many various types of cuisine. Learning under chefs who had backgrounds of Mexican cuisine, Japanese cuisine, BBQ, and fine dining. she learned the art of flavors by experimentation and personal growth. After working her way up through the ranks of the kitchen and being an executive chef at a university, she decided it was time to start her own business. Finding a love and passion for Texas style and wood smoked BBQ, she started The Smoke Ring.

The Smoke Ring is nestled in Northern Idaho in the beautiful city of Post Falls. We are a dynamic, resourceful company that is made up of creative, unique, and passionate team members. Here at The Smoke Ring, we strive to create a special experience for our guests and to serve them beyond their expectations. Catering all event types with large or small groups, having a flexible and customizable menu, followed with affordable pricing, we are ready to accommodate your unique needs. We cater events such as graduations, birthday parties, work parties, weddings, and receptions. The Smoke Ring also offers private chef with a fine dining menu for couples that are eloping, anniversaries, or any special occasion.
Have any dietary restrictions? Chef Jess, holds a Food Allergen certification which has given her training on how to make foods specific to necessary dietary restrictions. Examples include but are not limited to gluten sensitivities, dairy, nut, and soy allergies. She also has experience being a sous chef that solely designed and prepped meals for those with dietary restrictions.
